Zambezi Slow started because the options were wrong. The coach-tour operators pack 24 people into a vehicle and run to a timetable that leaves no room for the unexpected — the herd that crosses the road, the leopard in the leadwood. The luxury safari houses are magnificent, but their pricing shuts out most of the people who grew up with this landscape or dream of seeing it properly for the first time.
There is a middle ground that most operators ignore: small, thoughtful, locally guided trips that cost what they should — not three times more because of a resort fee. That is what Zambezi Slow is.
We work with guides and partners who know Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana — not from a course, but from years spent in the parks, on the rivers, and in the communities that live alongside them.
